Race To The Stones – Other People’s Blogs

My resource page where I gather together a few links to race blogs to inspire me during my training for Race To The Stones.

Thanks to all these bloggers for the information and the inspiration.

Miles with Michell
A brutally honest and fascinating write up of her experience. An entertaining and thought provoking piece of writing. As Michelle says, “this is a brain dump of my own experience of Race to the Stones so that I can try to understand what motivated me to tackle it in the first place, and what kept me going when I fell apart around 68km and was ready to quit.
Paul running the Ridgeway
Paul is quite a seasoned runner so his experience was probably quite different to what mine will be. He does go into a lot of detail about the course and the event so I felt it well worth having a link here so that I can swot up on things.
Jenni at Race To The Stones
This race report is structured in such a way that you get a strong impression of going from pit stop to the next pit stop. Several people have suggested that the best way to cope with this sort of distance is to focus on the next stop. I must try to bear this in mind. All too often if I think about the distance then my tricksy brain will try to convince me to stop.
This race report is the first one I’ve found so far that is written by someone who did the Race To The Stones over 2 days. Some fine descriptions of the marmite sandwiches, salty crisps and orange segments.
Race to the stones finisher picture
Some splendidly vivid descriptions in this blog. The struggles through the darkness were particularly illuminating.
